How can I get rid of acne fast?

Published by Jack under More Acne Information Edit This

This may not be the answer you want to hear, but there is no way to cure acne overnight.  Every acne treatment is going to take at least 3-4 weeks for a drastic change to take place.  However, if you have a few pimples that have popped up overnight that have are pretty noticeable, using vanishing formula that has a high salicylic acid content can help reduce the selling and make the pimple easier to cover up with makeup.  Generally speaking, the best way to clean up acne is to use a regular face cleansing routine that makes use of products with salicylic acid and benzyl peroxide.  A dermatologist can help chronic sufferers find an effective treatment plan if consulted.

How can I stop acne scars?

Published by Jack under More Acne Information Edit This

The answer to prevent scarring is simple, but not so easy to execute.  In the past the way to prevent acne blemishes from scarring is too stop playing with your face.  Many people swear that popping a pimple helps it heal faster, much like they believe pealing a scar from a cut will help their wound heal.  (Both are myths by the way.)  While popping a pimple will reduce the swelling temporarily because the grease is released, it can actually be counterproductive as all you are doing is spreading the harmful bacteria that cause the pimple to began with.  In fact, popping the pimple is exactly how scarring is caused because you are interfering with your body’s natural healing process.  If you do not want scarring, leave your acne be.

The best thing to do for your acne is to find a cleaning routine that works with your skin to help keep the acne at bay and to help get rid of the acne break outs. This routine often will involve both a day time and night time regiment that will have different products for the different times of day because your face will need certain things at the start of the day and at night to help it heal. To help increase the effectiveness of the acne treatment make sure that the routine you choose is easy to do and can be done within a small amount of time. The easier it is the more likely you will be to do it regularly.

Is acne genetic?

Published by Jack under More Acne Information Edit This

Unfortunately yes it is.  If your parents suffered from acne as a teenager, chances are you will also.  Even more depressing, if they still suffer from adult acne, you probably will too.  The good news is, acne is preventable if you find the skin regime that works for you while you are young.  Just because your face is clear does not mean you are cured.  If you quit taking care of your face once it is clean all you are doing is creating a stop start routine for yourself.  Therefore, keep your face clean every night by using over the counter products and proper exfoliation products and you will not have to worry about having a face full of acne again.

Does chocolate really cause acne?

Published by Jack under More Acne Information Edit This

Here is the simple answer, no there is no direct link between chocolate specifically causing acne.  However, that does not mean you are off the hook and free to indulge whenever you would like.  What can cause acne is a bad diet, and if you are overindulging in chocolate that means you are probably skipping out on the healthy foods rich in the vitamins your body needs to naturally fight the bacteria that causes acne.  Altering your diet to include more fruits and vegetables and less fast food and foods high in fatty acids and sugar will help keep your face clean and healthy.

What is the difference between blackheads and whiteheads when it comes to acne?

Published by Jack under More Acne Information Edit This

Whiteheads are oil secreted from the glands, dead skin cells, and a tiny opening on the surface of the skin.  However the opening is so small that air can not enter to oxidize the material trapped inside the follicle.  As a result of this, the material under the skin remains white.

On the other hand, blackheads have an opening on the skin’s surface that is much wider than the whitehead.  The holes are filled with the same material, but because of the larger opening it allows air to reach the material and oxidize it, which turns the material black.

What foods can cause acne?

Published by Jack under More Acne Information Edit This

Foods that have high counts of fats, oils and sugars are often a cause for acne.  Fast foods and junk food are both good examples of these.  If you have a good meal at a fast food restaurant, then remember to balance it out with something health, to counter act the foods that might be causing the acne breakouts. Chocolate is a misconception, although it is the blame for it, it is not the only junk food that causes acne.

It is best to eat healthy foods such as fresh fruit, daily products such as cheese, cottage cheese and milk, fresh vegetables and things that are good for you.

Acne may also be the cause of hidden food allergies.  You can eat a food which the body is allergic to leads to a continuous toxic reaction.  In such cases, the immune system fights the food as if it were an invading organism, and thus causes the inflammation in the skin.
